Developer Reveals Plans To Convert St. Paul’s Schmidt Brewery
From TwinCities.com:
A cavernous bottling house on the old Schmidt Brewery site in St. Paul will be reborn into about 100 live-work spaces for artists, developers said Tuesday.
Dominium Development and Acquisition plans to buy and redevelop the historic brick structure into an eclectic artist commons. The $25 million project would be similar to the Carleton Artist Lofts on University Avenue, for which the Plymouth-based company served as a consultant.
The deal represents the first major tenant to sign on to the Schmidt redevelopment. In January, Portland, Maine-based developer Jeffrey Cohen and his son, Craig Cohen of St. Paul, said they planned to buy the entire 15-acre brewery site and serve as the project’s master developer.
