St. Patrick’s Day Beer Tasting At Hugo’s On The Rocks

St. Patrick’s Day is upon us, and we would like you to join us for a festive beer tasting this Thursday at 7:00 PM. As you can see, we have included some classic favorites and some intriguing rarities. We will even create our own version of the famous Black and Tan. We also have Black and Tan Spoons for sale! As always, our tastings are free and no reservations required.

Smithwick’s Ale
Traditional Irish Ale -This traditional red Irish ale has a smooth classic taste. 12 pack btl. $11.99

Harp Lager
This rich, golden pilsner style lager has a smooth, refreshing, hoppy taste. It’s brewed the Irish way using only the finest barley and pure spring water from the Cooley Mountains of Dundalk, Ireland. 12 pack btl. $11.99

Rogue Kells Irish Style Lager
Gerard and Patrick McAleese asked John Maier to create a beer with a green apple bite flavor profile. It took four batches to get it just right. John used acidulated malts imported from Europe to get the crisp, lemony/apple flavor the McAleese Brothers wanted. The bottle label reflects the McAleese family heritage with pictures of the Kells Irish Pub logo and a traditional Irish flutist. 25 oz. btl. $5.49

Guinness Draught
The draught adored since 1959. A unique mix of nitrogen and carbon dioxide helps create Guinness Draught’s liquid swirl that tumbles, surges and gradually separates into a black body and smooth creamy head. The Rocket Widget, created and patented by Guinness, gives the beer the draught effect. This amazing device is activated with each tilt of the bottle. 12 pack btl. $11.99

Murphy’s Irish Stout
Using the same recipe since 1856! 4 pack can $6.49

Rogue XS Russian Imperial Stout
Deserving of the title “Emperor of Ales” (unlike the bourgeois “King of Beers”), Imperial is the strongest and fullest of all stouts. Imperials originally were brewed with large quantities of hops and a high alcohol content to withstand long, unrefrigerated journeys. Rogue Imperial Stout is considered the high end of stouts. 25 oz. btl. $15.49

A. Le Coq Russian Imperial Stout
A. Le Coq Imperial Extra Double Stout is a towering achievement, on the same level as a great old Barolo or vintage port. It makes a mind-boggling match with venison in sour cherry sauce and is a fine accompaniment to game sausages, particularly wild boar. Enjoy this stout with a cigar, but beware: Only the finest, strongest Cubans will do, unless you have an Arturo Fuente Opus X. 11.2 oz. btl. $6.49

Sincerely,
John Lenzmeier
